We're a group of game-players who live in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay area (i.e., Berkeley, Oakland, etc.) and meet weekly to play strategic board games. Our first meeting was on October 6, 1999.
The games we play generally have 3-6 players, take 1-2 hours to play, and require some thinking ahead. There are exceptions to these broad characterizations; for instance, we've played Through the Desert, which can take as little as 30 minutes, and Lost Cities, which is a 2-player game.
The games we've played include, but are by no means limited to: Settlers of Catan, Tigris & Euphrates, El Grande, Tikal, Acquire, Carolus Magnus, Medici, Modern Art, Cosmic Encounter, Torres, and Lord of the Rings. A list of some of the games we've played is here. You may notice a lot of overlap with the Internet Top 100 Games List, since our feelings about games seem to closely match those of that list's voters.
We meet every Wednesday. Our get-togethers are 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm at EndGame, a game store with a nice gaming room. Sometimes, people arrive as early as 6:30 or 7:00 pm, but most people don't arrive until 7:30 pm.

Sure, go ahead. And, feel free to bring games you're interested in playing. We look forward to meeting you!
