The Russian mobile games market varies a bit from other Western countries’ in that mobile gamers there prefer more strategic elements to their combat. I was asked to redesign some existing app store screens for Nexon-M’s long-running game DomiNations and make them more suitable for the Russian market: More strategic elements in the screenshots, more Russian characters showcased, more explosions and combat, and of course Russian text. For these screens, I composed the in-game screens out of dozens and dozens of separate elements, added effects and UI elements that fit the DomiNations brand, and found appropriate characters to include.
